About Ratnagiri Estate:
Established in 1927 by the Patre family, Ratnagiri Estate is nestled in the Western Ghats near Bababudangiri the birthplace of Indian coffee. Under the stewardship of Ashok Patre since 1989, the estate has embraced innovative cultivation and processing techniques, focusing on specialty coffee production. The plantation’s elevation and lush rainforest environment create optimal conditions for cultivating exceptional coffee. By employing diverse processing methods, including anaerobic fermentation, Ratnagiri Estate consistently produces unique and high quality microlots.
Processing Method:
This particular microlot, RX2-B, underwent anaerobic fermentation. Ripe coffee cherries were sealed in airtight tanks, fermenting in an oxygen-free environment for 12 hours. Subsequently, the cherries were depulped, washed, and soaked in water for 8 hours. The parchment was then dried on raised beds for 26 days until reaching the desired moisture content. This meticulous process results in a rich and complex flavor profile.

Basler’s portable filter coffee is genius!
I’m generally not a fan of filter coffee but this one tastes so incredibly good! The first sip totally surprised me, I literally texted my boyfriend “you have to try this”.
Also, I had one in my backpack on my trip to India which literally changed my day - it’s ideal for trips, or honestly anytime you want great coffee without using machines and stuff. No machine, no cleanup, just great coffee ready in minutes with simple hot water.
